Our 2020 Holiday Cocktail

For those of you who’ve been following along on Instagram, I’m finally sharing the cocktail that you’ve seen me make over and over…and over and over. 

We typically like to choose two holiday cocktails to stock on our cart during the holiday season, but because this is a “pandemic” holiday and it will most likely be only my husband and I enjoying the cart, we chose to stick to one.

(okay.. the real story is that we were willing to still display two holiday cocktails despite it just being us…but the one that I picked out turned out to be much better as a summer cocktail.) 

This year we chose to pick our cocktails from this book. 

You can purchase it (here). It has soooooo many incredible cocktails, it was so difficult to narrow it down. 

We were looking for something that had seasonal flavors like apple or burnt orange and myself… I can always go for something with a hint of chocolate – holidays or not. 

Nick’s pick won and I am sure that we will continue to serve this as a go-to cocktail for years to come. It is definitely a crowd pleaser. 

So without further ado – here’s the recipe. 

our 2020 holiday cocktail

The Lilywacker

Created by Death and Co. Cocktails (Phil Ward, 2008)

2 ounces Laird’s Bonded Apple Brandy

3/4 ounce Carpano Antica Formula Vermouth

1/2 ounce Contreau

1 Dash Bittermens Xocolatl Mole Bitters (our Binny’s was sold out of this so we opted for Fee Brothers Aztec Chocolate Bitters.

Stir all ingredients over ice, then strain into a coupe. No Garnish.

And that’s that. Holiday Perfection.
